With close to thirty albums (mostly released for foreign labels!) and with over 200 compositions, Szilárd Mezei is one of the most productive artists in Serbia today. He plays viola, violin, contrabass and various folkloric instruments. He deals with improvised music and jazz, with special emphasis on the relationship between improvisation and composition, getting his inspiration from the folk tradition. He is a longstanding collaborator of Jozef Nadj. The album of the septet was released last year on the label Not Two Records from Poland.
